Over the past few years the solar micro inverter market has established itself and expanded greatly.
But, does it deserve the hype that has been received?
Do they deliver on their promise to make solar energy cheaper and more reliable?
There are now micro inverters put out by Enphase, SolarBridge and now a Canadian company called ResidentialAC Solar.
They all claim that the micro inverter system is better.
One advantage, one that you may not realize is the ability to do diagnostics much more quickly and easily. If there is a bad connection, bad wire or any other simple system problem that does occur over time it is very easy to recognize and fix the problems.
That is because each individual solar panel is set up on an independent level. Even with the simplest monitor you can tell exactly where the problem is and fix it quickly.
There is also the element of planning and design. It used to be rather difficult to design a reliable system for your roof top. Now it is a simple modular set up that can be adapted to almost any situation. Enter the micro-inverter and you have the near perfect modular (or add on system). You can get started quickly and easily, and then add on as your finances or goals allow.
You can even hook it up to a cell phone app or to your desktop computer and monitor your power savings each day and over the course of a year.
It is a perfectly integrated system that most people do not realize is available.
The ultimate plug in and play solar set up is the AC solar system that is based on microinverters.
Of course these systems are still mostly in the test stages, but they can and do perform well in most installations.
Check out the Enphase or SolarBridge models, they are the most popular and offer the most choices, many panel manufacturers are now even including them in their solar kits. Something to consider.
