In a revolutionary move the bsolar company has released a double sided solar cell.
The bifacial c-Si solar cells actually can utilize the rear side of the cells to collect energy that is transmitted to your panels.
It is a great idea since diffused sunlight can account for a very large amount of energy and generate additional electricity.
bsolar cells are produced using p-type wafers as well as standardized equipment so there is no real added cost of the process.
Since the solar panels are more efficient and do not cost any more than regular ones this translates into a huge advantage.
These new cells provide a 10% to 30% higher energy per kilowatt output when compared to standard c-Si cells when installed in standard situations.
The real big news is that this will make the solar panels about 21% to 24% efficient.
This is a big jump up from the standard 15% that is accepted as pretty good for the industry.
Although they have just been released by bSolar they have been extensively tested in an third party test facility.
If we keep seeing advances in solar panel technology like this we will soon have an output that is comparable to regular solar installations.
The bsolar company has taken efficiency to a new level and that’s great, they are also testing a new technology to make them even more efficient and we can’t wait to see what they have been up to.
